Birthdays, birthdays, birthdays---you can't do without them. Some years ago Renae and I took a page from the concepts of the Australian Aborigines who believe it is very strange to celebrate a birthday---after all, it's not like you have to do anything special to have one. They believe that when everyone agrees that it is time to have a party, they have one.
Some years ago, when we were traveling and living fulltime in a motorhome, we had decided to play in Durango, Colorado. One evening, close to midnight (we are night owls) our daughters (then about 4 years old) asked if we could have a birthday party. We enthusiastically drove our motorhome to Wal-Mart and bought ice cream, cake, party hats and noise makers, and had a birthday party for all of us. It was great fun, and I highly recommend having parties for absolutely no reason at all except that you just want to celebrate life with those you love.
Love to all, Andries
