There is a beauty and sacredness to the physical body that anyone can realize, no matter what you've been taught or picked up along your life's experiences. Some of us are able to recognize it in the perfect form of a little baby. We love the chubbyness of a healthy baby, the delight she finds in her own toes, the feeling of beauty and blessedness that she feels about herself. Although we end up feeling less and less perfect as we grow up, we can still remember and recognize that feeling. It is still an awareness within us, and at some level we know that since this is the only body we'll have in this lifetime, we should come to a place of peace with it. It is our partner in this life, it responds to our thoughts, feelings, helps us to solidify our beliefs, and will put up with an enormous amount of criticism.
Despite all the people who seem to have an effect on your sense of well-being and your self-image, actually no one has the power or the right to make you love or hate your body. I can tell you that you're ugly or beautiful, but if it doesn't match your own belief, you don't hear it. This is part of what we do with AiKi. You can work out and diet and try to mold your uncooperative body into an acceptable form, but that sure is the hard way, and it doesn't last if you don't change the way you feel inside it. But change the way you think about yourself and how you treat yourself, and your body enthusiastically comes right along with you.
I've learned a lot about that from our German Shepherd, Thomas. He is a beautiful soul in a gorgeous body. He knows he's attractive, but he's kind of like a cat -- when someone is really attracted to his physical beauty, he's like "Whatever. I appreciate your good taste, but I don't need your admiration." He really likes people who can see past the "suit".
Law of Attraction says what you think about and focus on gets bigger. That's great if it's something you like. Not so great if it's not. However you do it, we wish you peace and joy and love in your physical earth-suit and beyond.
